Technical Manager at SGS
Do you want to help develop the laboratory methods of the future at a company with industry-leading analytical techniques? Do you dream of being part of making the world a safer place while having the opportunity to grow within your profession?
Then the position of Technical Manager at SGS might be for you!
About the Position
At SGS, we make the world a safer place by analyzing thousands of environmental samples daily to protect public health. We investigate whether there are PFAS or heavy metals in drinking water, cyanide in soil, or dioxins in pike.
We are now looking for a Technical Manager with solid expertise and experience in spectrophotometry and wet chemical analytical techniques to further strengthen our technical department. We analyze, for example, TOC, CODCr, and nutrients in lake water and wastewater. Our instrument park consists of nearly 30 instruments and includes both SFA (Segmented Flow Analysis), discrete analyzers, and combustion technology.
As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our instruments function as they should during daily operations. You are not only a key person for our super lab in Linköping but also oversee all labs in Scandinavia. You are proactive and take the initiative in our investment processes, identifying necessary investments required to future-proof our operations.
Through your development focus, you also ensure that your laboratory colleagues receive training and guidance on how to best use the instruments.
You have a high degree of autonomy in managing your days based on the demands of the business and how you choose to prioritize. You understand that your priorities must be made in dialogue with others to ensure they align with what is most important for the business and your colleagues.
Your Profile
We see you as an initiator with a strong sense of responsibility who enjoys juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. You tackle challenges in a structured manner and are accustomed to prioritizing tasks methodically. You are not afraid to ask for help when facing particularly difficult challenges, recognizing your limitations and being receptive to feedback.
You are someone who loves solving problems and sharing your knowledge. You are communicative, which is essential as you are expected to have close contacts with suppliers and service technicians, as well as collaborate closely with laboratory personnel in your area of expertise, along with other functions in the company.
Formal Competence Requirements
- University degree in a scientific field
- High technical competence in the relevant area
- Work experience from a laboratory
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in Office suite and IT
Meritorious
- Previous experience working with accreditation of testing methods
Our Offer
At SGS, you will work alongside dedicated, competent, and engaged colleagues with high standards for safety and quality. Our vision is a safe and sustainable lab you can count on.
Do you want to help create "A better, safer and more interconnected world"? At SGS, we truly make a difference! SGS contributes to an improved environmental situation and a long-term sustainable society. Welcome to an organization that contributes to a healthier world!
